We spend a large part of our lives under the guidance of teachers who play a very vital role in shaping our future. Teachers not only provide us education but also guide us and show the path which will lead to success and prosperity. Mrs. Sumitra Mitter is one such teacher and mentor who has been an inspiration to hundreds of students. She is the Principal of Arun Nursery school, a pre-primary school in Kolkata. It is her vision and out of the box thinking that has made her school stand out of the league. The following facts about her would make you realise why she is one of the great mentors of our times. 

What makes her the best?

Experienced : Mrs. Sumitra Mitter started working as a teacher in the Informatics and Computer Systems department of a school in 1989. She has been associated with Education. Over the years she has contributed to HR, Accounts and Administration over the years. Her doggedness, ideation and single minded dedication led to her becoming firstly a member of the Working Committee of Sri Aurobindo Institute of Culture, then Trustee of Arun Nursery Trust and finally Principal of Arun Nursery School in 2016. 

New approach of teaching: She fosters learning in a new and different approach and does not follow the conventional school formula of learning. This  has allowed her to incorporate all the modern approaches to teaching-learning in her school. The School has turned into an exceptional elementary school under her guidance. 

Humble nature: “To love to learn is the most precious gift that one can give to a child” is the mantra of Arun Nursery School which is mentored by Mrs. Sumitra Mitter and her team of teachers who are humble, kind, intelligent and loving to all the children.
